The Homestead girls' golf team's performance at the Hall of Fame Classic, the biggest annual high school tournament outside of the state finals, was impressive.
The second-ranked Spartans combined for a 293 to finish in second place Saturday, three strokes back of top-ranked Evansville North at Noblesville.
Madison Dabagia shot a 7-under 65 at Purgatory Golf Club to take medalist honors. That was an 18-hole record for the Spartans, four strokes better than the previous mark.
Morgan Dabagia carded a fifth-place 71 that included a hole-in-one on the seventh hole – a first for both her and the program.
Olivia Render had a 78, a personal best for varsity, and Simone Senk added a 79.
Megan Yoder's 82 wasn't included in the team score.
Zionsville took third place with a 300. Westfield was fourth with a 302.
