Full-capacity Parkview has a need for full staff

Mike Nutter

The Fort Wayne TinCaps are at a critical point.

After all that everyone in our community and beyond has been through over the past 16 months, we couldn't be more excited to open Parkview Field back to full capacity for the first time in nearly two years.

However, we need your help.

When the 2020 Minor League Baseball season was completely lost, it pained the organization to furlough full-time employees and to be unable to hire hundreds of seasonal workers as the TinCaps have been for more than a decade. Thankfully, we're now back to actively hiring.

After having less than 50% capacity early on this season, when our team returns from its current road trip, June 29 will mark Parkview Field's first game at 100% capacity since Labor Day 2019. To maintain our standard of first-class customer service, we're looking to hire dozens of part-time staff members to our award-winning team.

The TinCaps are hiring for a variety of positions. It may sound cliché, but it takes a team effort to make Parkview Field the No. 1 minor league ballpark experience in the country.

Members of our staff can expect to be valued and expect to have fun, working with the backdrop of future Major League Baseball players on the field in downtown Fort Wayne.

We have 36 games remaining on our home schedule through Sept. 12, but rest assured, we're flexible with people's schedules and not expecting someone to commit to working every single game.

About 30 years ago, as an 18-year-old living in the Chicago area, I got my start with the Kane County Cougars minor league baseball team.

My responsibilities included cleaning the stadium after games.

I can tell you our cleaning crew now will find far fewer cigarette butts than I picked up back then.

Who knows, if you're looking to have a career in sports, this could even be your foot in the door. More than half of our full-time staff started with the team in a seasonal role before earning a promotion.

The process for applying is exceptionally simple. Submit a form online at TinCapsJobs.com, and a member of our staff could contact you within 24 hours to schedule an interview.

Whether you're looking for work yourself or know someone to spread the word to, we appreciate your consideration and support.

Be it as a fan, or maybe even as the newest member of our club, I look forward to seeing you at a packed Parkview Field soon!
