A 73-year-old Fort Wayne man was identified Wednesday as the person killed in a residential fire in rural northwest Allen County.
Neal Edward Jordan died from smoke inhalation and thermal burns, the Allen County coroner's office said in a news release. His death was ruled an accident.
Jordan was found in his home in the 4300 block of Felger Road about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, the release said.
Several fire departments were called to the blaze, which was between U.S. 30 and Arcola Road, west of O'Day Road.
Firefighters found the home engulfed in flames, the release said.
Jordan was found once the fire was brought under control, the release said, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by Washington Township EMS.
The fatal fire happened a week after two Fort Wayne men died in a morning house fire on Strawberry Drive on the city's north side. Robert Lee Whitt, 65, and Gordon L. Douglas, 64, also died accidentally from smoke inhalation and thermal burns.
The Felger Road fire remained under investigation Wednesday.
