The man shot last week by Fort Wayne police was released from the hospital Sunday and taken into custody, police said in a news release.
Preliminary charges against Thomas A. May, 36, include four counts of pointing a loaded firearm and six counts of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, police said.
May also faces two counts of intimidation and one count of neglect of a dependent.
May was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries Friday night after being shot by Fort Wayne police at a home off Coldwater Road, near Interstate 69 and Northrop High School.
Police were responding to a disturbance involving suicide threats in the 800 block of Lemonwood Court.
Officers encountered May armed with a handgun, and at least one officer fired a gun, hitting him, police have said. No officers or bystanders were reported injured.
Fort Wayne police and Indiana State Police will investigate the shooting.
Police have said the officers involved will be placed on standard administrative leave to allow the investigation to proceed.
