Man accused of fraud on home improvements

JAMIE DUFFY | The Journal Gazette

The story was the same every time. A contractor stopped by to replace the roof, exterior doors, gutters, and perform other home improvements.

But Jeremiah D. Lowe, 37, of Warsaw took money to buy materials and never returned to do the work. Most of his victims were older than 60, court documents said.

Lowe was charged Wednesday with three counts of home improvement fraud where victim is at least 60 years old and three misdemeanor counts of home improvement fraud involving a contract price of $1,000 or more.

At least six known victims were scammed out of more than $26,000, court documents said. Three names he used for his companies were Jay Donald Inc., Jay Contracting and Home Source.

A warrant was issued for his arrest.
