Fort Wayne police believe three shootings that killed a man and injured two boys this month were related.
Police said they are making it a priority to catch the people responsible for the shootings.
“We do have person(s) of interest in these shootings,” Sofia Rosales-Scatena, public information officer, said in a statement Wednesday.
An 8-year-old boy was shot and injured inside a home about 2 a.m. Jan. 12 in the 3200 block of Logan Avenue, just east of Adams Elementary School. Police said gunshots were fired from outside the home.
At 10:45 p.m. Jan. 13, a 13-year-old boy was shot at a home in the 3800 block of Euclid Avenue. Police said the boy was shot when he went to answer a knocking at the front door.
On Monday just after midnight, Than Kahn Khai was shot in the neck after a bullet was shot into his home at 3411 Senate Ave. Khai, 49, died at the scene.
In that case, the shooters apparently shot at the wrong house when they killed Khai, police said Wednesday.
“These acts of violence are not acceptable and are not what we should accept as normal,” Rosales-Scatena said. “Come forward and help us stop this.”
Anyone with any information on the shootings is asked to call the Fort Wayne detective bureau at 427-1201 and ask to speak to a homicide detective.
