The Allen County coroner Tuesday identified the man fatally shot on Senate Avenue as Than Kahn Khai.
The 49-year-old Fort Wayne man died from a gunshot wound to his neck Monday just after midnight, the coroner's office said.
The coroner ruled Khai's death a homicide, the county's third in as many weeks.
Fort Wayne police have released few details about the shooting at 3411 Senate Ave., which is on the city's southeast side between Hessen Cassel Road and Wayne Trace near McMillen Park.
Like an incident that injured a boy last week, authorities believe shots came from outside the house because shell casings were in the street, police have said.
Khai was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family is being assisted by Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, which provides and coordinates social services for families in need, the organization has said.
Gunfire also was involved in the other homicides this year.
Marlon Lee Kimbrough, 40, of Indianapolis was found fatally shot around Oxford Street and Meyer Road on Jan. 7.
Diquan Q. Meriwether, 19, of Fort Wayne died Jan. 14 after a shooting at Abbott and Pontiac streets. Kennisha Jackson, 19, was formally charged Tuesday with murder and faces a sentencing enhancement for using a gun to commit the crime.
Khai's death remains under investigation. Those with information are asked to call police at 260-427-1201 or Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867.
