City man accused of armed robbery

A Fort Wayne man was charged Wednesday with armed robbery after witnesses said they saw him punch, kick and drag a woman at a PNC Bank after he grabbed her purse.

On April 22, Michael Adriene Porter, 34, of the 1000 block of North Coliseum Boulevard, grabbed the woman's purse outside PNC Bank on South Anthony Boulevard around 9:25 a.m. while wielding a machete, according to court documents.

The 79-year-old victim had just walked out of the bank when she was accosted by Porter. She had numerous injuries to multiple parts of her body from the assault and being dragged screaming along the sidewalk as she clung to her purse, court records said.

Porter left in a tan Ford Escape, which was found abandoned behind a Kroger store. Police determined the SUV belonged to Porter and identified him as the assailant through his DNA, which matched DNA on the handle of his machete, court documents said.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Two Fort Wayne men were charged this week with child sex offenses in separate cases.

He is accused of performing sex acts with a 13-year-old girl between June and October 2017.

He was released from the Allen County Jail on $60,750 bond, according to a jail spokesman.

Chivas D. Perry Jr., 19, of the 3700 block of Holton Avenue, was charged Tuesday with sexual misconduct with a minor. Perry was engaging in sexual acts with a girl under the age of 16 between April and August of this year, court documents said.

He was being held at the Allen County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Two people are behind bars in Ohio after a high-speed pursuit early Wednesday in Montpelier.

Officers tried to stop a car driven by Gabriel K. Gambler, 41, of Bryan, Ohio, after he left a house in Montpelier, the Williams County Sheriff's Department said.

Officers pursued Gambler south on Ohio 576 to County Road D, where stop sticks were deployed. The pursuit ended near the intersection of County roads A and 9, police said.

Gambler and one of his passengers, Danielle Stipe, 29, of Bryan, were taken into custody. A third person inside the car was also arrested but later released, police said.

Gambler was arrested on an outstanding warrant on failure to appear, with an original charge of aggravated possession of drugs.

Stipe was arrested on an outstanding warrant on failure to appear, with an original charge of possession of heroin.

Both were being held at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio on their warrants.
