FWFD official resigns for 'lack of judgment'

MATTHEW LEBLANC | The Journal Gazette

A Fort Wayne Fire Department assistant chief has resigned and will take a lower rank, city officials confirmed.

Todd Prindle's resignation was effective Friday, and paperwork to make the move will be processed today, John Perlich, a city spokesman, said Sunday.

Prindle was promoted last year to assistant chief of operations. He now will be a captain in the department.

In a resignation letter, Prindle apologized for a “lack of judgment” and actions that put the department in a bad light, Perlich confirmed.
