A man has been arrested in the stabbing death of a woman late Saturday.
The Allen County coroner identified the woman today as Kennedy Janae Laramore, 21.
Police were called at 10:40 p.m. Saturday to 1610 Roosevelt Drive where officers found Laramore lying in the road suffering from stab wounds. She was taken to a local hospital where she died. Laramore is Allen County's 18th homicide victim this year.
Robert Dale Littlejohn, 55, was charged today with murder.
According to court documents, several witnesses told police there was an argument between several women at the Roosevelt Drive residence before Laramore was stabbed.
One witness told police Littlejohn struck her in the head in the driveway outside the home, causing her to bleed. Another witness told investigators she saw Littlejohn with a knife in his hand "and he was swinging it around."
A third witness told police she was hit by Littlejohn's sister and there were "several altercations happening when she saw the defendant go to the garage where he retrieved something that she believed was a kife."
"She advised the defendant then tried to stab her in the stomach," court documents state. "This caused the victim Kennedy Laramore to hit Robert (Littlejohn) because he tried to stab Witness 3."
Littlejohn's sister then hit Laramore because she hit Littlejohn. "A short time later, Witness 3 was with Kennedy and she advised Witness 3 that she had been stabbed," the affidavit said
A fourth witness told police she saw Littlejohn holding a knife and that he tried to stab the third witness. The fourth witness said she saw Littlejohn chasing Laramore just before she was hurt.
Video from a neighbor's home was retrieved by police. According to court documents, the recording shows "several arguments and loud yelling as well as physical altercations." The video, court documents state, show several women and one tall man, believed to be Littlejohn.
"The male is seen chasing the victim and yells, 'hold on (expletive) hold on here you go' as he strikes her and she falls to the ground," court documents state. "The victim then gets up and runs to a nearby vehicle and collapses in the street where she was later found when police is arrived. The defendant is also seen trying to stab another female just after the victim falls to the ground."
Littlejohn's next court hearing is Sept. 12.
