Fort Wayne/Allen County
City's HVAC, roof program open
The heating, air conditioning and roof program from Fort Wayne's Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services is now open to qualified residents.
The program offers 0% interest 10-year loans for heating/air conditioning replacement or roof replacement projects. Applicants must own their homes and be their primary residences within city limits.
Applicants must also have a household income at or below 80% of the area median income, or $55,050 for a family of four.
To apply, call 260-427-8585. Applicants are asked a brief series of questions then asked to leave contact information on a voicemail system. The Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services will call back to determine eligibility.
Funding, which is limited, comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Residents will be served on a first-come, first-served basis, and the program will be closed once funds are committed.
More information about the homeowner repair program can be found at www.fwcommunitydevelopment.org/homeownerrepair.
