Bible institute

The Decatur Lutheran Bible Institute will take place from 7 to 9:15 p.m. Feb. 1, 8, 15 and 22 at Wyneken Memorial Lutheran School along U.S. 27 near Decatur. Registration for courses begin at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 1. Cost is $10 for adults and free for college, high school and elementary students. Topics for this year are: “1 Peter -- Hope for Dark Days” by the Rev. Dr. Adam Koontz of Concordia Theological Seminary; “Comparing World Religions -- Christianity ... in a class by itself?” by the Rev. Zachary Oedewaldt, associate pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur; “How to Read the Old Testament and See Jesus” by Jeffrey Pulse of Concordia Theological Seminary; and “Revelation: Joy for the Church in the Last Days” by the Rev. James Voorman, senior pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur.
