Leo boys basketball rebounded from its loss to New Haven with a 72-59 win at Snider on Wednesday. 

The Lions (9-2, 2-1 NE8) held a narrow 28-26 lead at halftime but outscored the Panthers (8-3, 3-1SAC) 22-15 in the fourth quarter to earn their fifth win over an SAC team this season. 

Leo shot 6-12 from 3, and while Snider hit nine treys the Panthers had 27 attempts from beyond the arc. The Lions shot 55.1% from the field overall. 

Caedmon Bontrager led Leo with 19 points and 10 rebounds, Trey Hiteshew scored 16, Luke LaGrange had 12 and Xavier Middleton 10.

Karson Jenkins scored 22 points for Snider, Aidan Lambert had 15 and Keron Billingsley 10. 

NORWELL 67, CARROLL 56 – At Norwell, the Knights improved to 3-0 against SAC opponents while the Chargers (1-11, 1-3 SAC) failed to pick up their second win. Norwell (11-3, 2-1 NE8) led 29-22 at halftime and never trailed in the second half. Luke McBride scored 23 points for the Knights, Jake Parker scored 18, Lleyton Bailey scored 11 points with five assists and Ashton Federspiel had 10. Cannon Houser scored 19 points for Carroll, Andrew Sinish had 12 and Hanson Haffner had 10. 

Girls Basketball 

WOODLAN 64, FREMONT 42 – At Woodlan, the Warriors improved to 16-4, led by Avah Smith's 20 points and 13 rebounds, Taylor Kneubuhler's 20 points and seven rebounds and Dakotah Krohn's 17 points and six assists. Fremont is now 6-13. 



Homestead beat Warsaw with a team score of 108.60 on Tuesday night, while Warsaw posted a season-best 82.550. Gina Zirille posted the best score in each of the four events, winning the vault with a score of 9.600, bars at 9.450, beam at 9.600 and floor with a score of 9.525. 

NorthWood scored 28.80.
