Norwell sweeps boys and girls NE8 Swim titles

Norwell swept the Northeast 8 boys and girls swim championships Saturday, finishing with 420 points in the boys meet and 361 in the girls meet. Columbia City was second in boys, while Huntington North was the girls' runner-up.
Kellen Zimmer won the 100-yard breaststroke for Knights and was part of the winning 200 free relay team that also included Emerson Graft, Landon Anderson and Kale Meredith and the 200 medley relay champion alongside Brody Page, Michael Reidenbach and Jacob Peterson.
Norwell's Emma Page won the 500 free and was also part of the 200 free relay champion with Riley Meredith, Aubreyan Heyerly and Addyson Heyerly and the winning 400 free relay team with Ella Krug, Jillian Melcher & Emerson Meredith.
At the Northern Lakes Conference girls meet, Wawasee finished third and Warsaw took fourth. Addison Beasley won the 200 individual medley for Wawasee and was second to teammate Hayden Neer in the 100 breaststroke. Alexis Mishler captured the 100 backstroke for the Warriors and Julie Mishler won the 50 free.
