Gov. Eric Holcomb will be the keynote speaker for the Allen County Republican Party's annual Reagan Bean Dinner on Nov. 1, party Chairman Steve Shine announced Monday.
Shine said in a statement that Holcomb is the state's "most admired and popular elected leader." Shine praised Holcomb for "accelerating major road projects, increasing high speed affordable internet to unserved Hoosiers, establishing better air service for the State and committing the largest infusion of funding in the State's history to better our network of trails."
The appearance by the first-term governor at the local GOP's fall fundraising dinner will come a few days before the Nov. 5 municipal elections.
The dinner and VIP reception will be at Ramada Plaza Fort Wayne Hotel & Conference Center at Washington Center and Coldwater roads. The reception will begin at 5 p.m., and the dinner will begin at 6:45 p.m.

Shine also announced Monday that the county GOP will host a public forum on Oct. 1 featuring the Republican candidates in the city's municipal election for mayor, clerk-treasurer and the city council. The forum will be at 6:30 p.m. at the New Haven Community Center, 7500 W. Indiana 930, with doors opening at 6 p.m.
Shine said New Haven residents will have the opportunity to meet the candidates and ask them questions.
