Two Allen County commissioners recently traveled to Washington for a Regional State Leadership Forum hosted by the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, the Association of Indiana Counties said.
Commissioners Therese Brown and Rich Beck attended the Tuesday forum and Indiana was one of four states that participated in the event, a Thursday news release said. Attendees had the opportunity to tour the White House and visit the office of the National Association of Counties.
Officials also met with Vice President Mike Pence and senior administration officials to share federal, state and local priorities on infrastructure, rural development, disaster recovery and resilience, as well as energy development.
Attendees had the opportunity to hear from more than 10 senior administrative officials from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Office of National Drug Control Policy, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
