3 vie for state lawmaker's seat
The Indiana Republican Party has announced that three people have filed their candidacies for a Tuesday caucus to replace resigning state Rep. Kevin Mahan, R-Hartford City.
GOP officials in Indiana House District 31 will choose from among Steve Henderson, John Lancaster and Ann Vermillion to fill the remainder of Mahan's two-year term, which expires after the 2020 election. Mahan is moving out of the district to take a job with an Indianapolis-area health care provider.
House District 31 includes Blackford County and parts of Wells, Grant and Delaware counties.
The caucus will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ivy Tech Community College, 261 Commerce Drive, Marion.
