The Indiana Tech men’s volleyball team defeated NCAA Division III foe and regional rival Trine, 3-1 (22-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-16), Wednesday in nonconference action at the Schaefer Center. The win was the program's first since 1973 and the first career victory on the men’s side for head coach Kyle Shondell.
Daynte Stewart had a team-high nine kills and four services aces while recording seven digs and three blocks. Dante Siracusa had eight kills and hit .429 while notching nine total blocks. Chandler Davis dished out 29 assists with four service aces while Jason Miller had nine digs.
Tech (1-1) returns to action Friday as they travel to Lebanon, Tennessee, for the Phoenix Classic, hosted by Cumberland University, where they will take on Missouri Valley College, Cumberland, Reinhardt University and Judson University. First serve is set for noon Friday against Missouri Valley from Dallas Floyd Phoenix Arena while Tech will take on the hosts at 4 p.m.
