Purdue will take on VCU at Emerald Coast Classic
DYLAN SINN | The Journal Gazette
Purdue men's basketball will take on VCU at the Emerald Classic Coast Classic on Nov. 29, the Boilermakers announced. The game will tip off at 9:30 p.m. in Destin, Florida and be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
The Rams went 25-8 in 2018-19 and earned a No. 8 seed in the NCAA Tournament before falling to Tacko Fall-led Central Florida in the first round. They will return their four leading scorers, including rising junior Marcus Santos-Silva, who was the team's leading rebounder, as well. All four of those returnees averaged double-figure scoring.
The announcement of the matchup with VCU completes Purdue's 2019-20 non-conference schedule, which features 11 games. Non-conference clashes include games against Texas, Marquette, Tennessee or Florida State (which will also take place at the Emerald Coast Classic), Virginia and Butler. The season opens Nov. 5 at Mackey Arena against Wisconsin-Green Bay.
