Five Indiana Tech athletes earned Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference athlete of the week honors this week.
Freshman Destiny Copeland won Women's Track Athlete of the Week with a win in the 400-meter hurdles at the University of the Cumberlands Invitational over the weekend, crossing the finish line in 1 minutes, 2.58 seconds, the ninth-fastest time in NAIA this season.
Seniors Qadir Muhammad and Nathan Riley were named Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week. Muhammad anchored the Warriors' winning 4x400 team at the University of the Cumberlands and finished second in the 400 meters in 48.04. Riley took fourth in the shot put at the Ball State Challenge with a throw of 16.59 meters (54 feet, 5.25 inches).
Junior Cecilia Heck was named Women's Golfer of the Week after winning her fourth title of the season at the Shootout at Stonehedge in Michigan with a score of 155 (77-78).
Junior Tiago Neves was named Men's Tennis Player of the Week after winning two matches at No. 1 singles, beating his Concordia counterpart 6-0, 6-1, and his Anderson opponent 6-1, 6-0. The Warriors won both matches as a team.
