Lamar Carswell scored four touchdowns for the second game in a row as Trine improved to 2-0 with a 34-13 win over Bluffton on Saturday in Angola.
Carswell, who broke Trine's all-time records in points scored and touchdowns scored in last week's season opener against Manchester, caught an 8-yard pass from quarterback Andrew Duckett midway through the first quarter. He finished the game with 157 of Trine's 229 rushing yards.
Jeffrey Barnett racked up 113 yards on two kickoff returns for the Thunder, including one he took 95 yards for a touchdown.
Bluffton's Adam Duncan hit two field goals and caught a 70-yard touchdown pass from Plummie Gardner in the second quarter.
ALMA 39, MANCHESTER 33: In Alma, Michigan, Manchester (0-2) and Alma (1-1) traded the lead four times in the fourth quarter, but it was Alma that got the final say with a 6-yard touchdown run from Mason Ippel.
The Spartans outgained the Scots, 457 yards to 342, but Alma put together an early 14-0 lead when Max Kretzschmar returned a 74-yard interception for a touchdown.
Donovan Henderson Jr. ran for three touchdowns for Manchester, and Harrington Greer caught passes from Bryce Tomasi for the other two.
