JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette

Andre Emmett, who played 39 games with the Mad Ants in 2014-15, was killed today in Dallas, according to multiple social-media reports.

Among those reporting it were Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Emmett, 37, averaged 22.6 points and 5.4 rebounds for Fort Wayne. He led it in scoring in 26 games and was the All-Star Game MVP with 28 points in an Eastern Conference victory before leaving Fort Wayne.

Emmett played at Texas Tech for Bob Knight, earning All-Big 12 honors as a junior and senior. He played eight NBA games with Memphis in 2004-05 and six with New Jersey in 2011-12.

He played last season in Puerto Rico and had most recently been playing in the BIG3, a 3-on-3 league.
