K's score 5 unanswered, defeat Wings 5-2
JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette
Things were looking dire, as if the Komets might be pushed down to fourth place in the Central Division.
Then they unleashed five unanswered goals Sunday and cemented a 5-2 victory over the Kalamazoo Wings in front of 6,621 fans at Memorial Coliseum.
The teams entered the day tied for third place but the Wings had won four in a row and the Komets were on a 1-5-1 slide.
The Komets are off until 7:30 p.m. Saturday, when they play host to the Cincinnati Cyclones.
The Komets got two goals from Lynden McCallum and one apiece from Matt Alvaro, Zach Pochiro and Anthony Petruzzelli.
