Another ownership change in ECHL
JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette
There has been a flurry of activity off the ice in the ECHL this summer. The latest was a change in ownership with the Florida Everblades, one of the league's flagship franchises, from a group led by Peter Karmanos (who last year went from majority to minority owner of the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes) to a group led by David Hoffmann. The Hoffmann family owns national corporations including DHR International/Jobplex/Elevate Partners in Chicago and Orange Line Oil in Pomona, California.
Also this offseason, there have been ECHL changes in ownership with the Jacksonville Icemen, Norfolk Admirals and Reading Royals. Plus, the Manchester Monarchs suspended operations.
