Komets coach gary Graham promised some drastric moves in the midst of the team's recent slump, and today the team made some rosters moves.
Defenseman Sean Flanagan has been acquired in a trade for future considerations from Greenville. Forward Kyle Hope has signed a PTO and has been added to the Fort Wayne roster and forward Ryan Siiro and defenseman Oskari Halme have been placed on waivers.
Flanagan, 26, is a second-year pro since completing a four-year collegiate stint with Minnesota State University-Mankato in 2016-17. The defenseman helped lead the Mavericks to two WCHA Championships and was named WCHA All-Academic Honoree. The Kindersley, Saskatchewan, native also was named WCHL Scholar-Athlete for his sophomore, junior and senior seasons while earning a spot on the 2013-14 All-Rookie Team. Flanagan appeared in 50 games with Greenville this season scoring 13 assists and accumulating 12 penalty minutes.
Hope, 25, is expected to make his pro debut tonight when the Komets play host to Wichita. The London, Ontario, native finished his five-year collegiate career this year leading the University of Windsor Lancers with 11 goals, 17 assists and 28 points in 27 games.
Siiro skated 33 games with the Komets scoring a goal and adding five assists while Halme scored three assists in seven games during his pro debut with Fort Wayne.
