Matthew Weis, who excelled in his first six games with the Komets, has been recalled by Chicago of the American Hockey League.

Weis had two goals and seven points in six games for Fort Wayne (21-16-3), which plays 7:30 p.m. Friday against the Indy Fuel (20-18-3) at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis.

In 29 games this season with Chicago, Weis, a rookie out of Ohio State, has one goal and three points.

Fort Wayne has a two-point lead over Indy for third place in the Central Division, but the Komets have been playing without their top two scorers, Justin Hodgman (hand) and Jake Kamrass (upper body), who are both day-to-day with their injuries coming out of the all-star break.

The Komets are on a 0-2-2 run.
