When Eric Levine was called from Quad City of the Southern Professional Hockey League, he told the Quad City Times that he expected to play. I don't see that happening since tonight was the only date on the calendar I thought might make sense. But Lukas Hafner came out first in warm-ups and it looks like he's set to play for the third time in as many nights, and the fourth game in five nights, for the Komets against the Brampton Beast.
As for Fort Wayne's No. 1 goalie, Zach Fucale, he was with Canada in Davos, Switzerland, at the Spengler Cup.
Finnish club KalPa Kuopio won 2-1 in the final over Canada, which was looking for its fourth straight championship in the tournament, but this was decided in a shootout that went eight rounds. Fucale stopped 21 shots and 5 of 8 in the shootout.
