NACS board resuming in-person audience, public comments
ASHLEY SLOBODA | The Journal Gazette
The Northwest Allen County Schools board will welcome an in-person audience for the first time in months Monday.
And attendees wishing to address the board will get their chance during audience comments, according to an agenda released today.
The board -- which has attracted disruptive, unruly audiences -- shifted to a virtual format Oct. 13, and it held its first meeting without public comment Sept. 27. The board restructured its meetings because of increased safety concerns during and after board meetings.
Last week, the board approved amendments to its bylaw about public participation at board meetings. Comments will be limited to 30 minutes, with each person limited to two minutes, and speakers must sign up before the start of the public comment period.
Monday's meeting is at 6 p.m. at the Perry Hill Elementary School cafeteria, 13121 Coldwater Road. Enter through Door 1.
