NACS middle school to use e-learning Friday
Decision attributed to staffing shortages
ASHLEY SLOBODA | The Journal Gazette
A Northwest Allen County middle school will conduct an e-learning day Friday because of staffing shortages, the district announced today.
"We cannot staff and supervise the building safely tomorrow," Brandon Basham, Carroll Middle School principal, said in a statement. "Therefore, our best option is to use eLearning for the day."
COVID-19 cases and other absences contributed to the shortage, the district said.
The district only Wednesday told families to prepare for the possibility of classes, grade levels or schools to close with short notice.
"It is also possible that your child may have periodic delayed bus pick-ups or drop-offs due to staffing shortages," the district said Wednesday. "We are hopeful these are temporary challenges."
