A Fort Wayne police officer accused of sending lewd messages to high school students is being held at the Allen County Jail.
Andrew J. Beck, 47, is charged with child solicitation, dissemination of matter harmful to minors and possession of child pornography. He had been held in California, where investigators said he was on military leave.
Beck was taken into local custody today.
A 16-year-old Wayne High School student told a school resource officer in April that another student was in a relationship with Beck, who was a part-time resource officer at the school. A social media account owned by Beck included several photos, including one in which he is naked, court documents allege.
Beck, who has been with the Fort Wayne Police Department since 2006, operated several other accounts, which were used to contact girls, investigators said.
Beck was recently moved to unpaid status with the police department.
