Huntington man sentenced to 21 years in New Year's Day slaying

MATTHEW LEBLANC | The Journal Gazette
A man convicted in the New Year's Day 2018 stabbing death of Kyle L. Randall in Huntington was ordered today to spend 21 years in prison.
Ryan Richison, 28, of LaFontaine, had been charged with murder, but jurors in August found him guilty of voluntary manslaughter, residential entry and misdemeanor criminal mischief.
He was sentenced this morning in Huntington Circuit Court to 20 years for voluntary manslaughter, one year for residential entry and 90 days for criminal mischief. The sentences for residential entry and criminal mischief will be served at the same time, but back-to-back to the manslaughter sentence for a total of 21 years behind bars.
Randall, 29, was found stabbed in the chest. Investigators said a fight preceded the attack.
