A Decatur man listed in court documents as an assistant football coach and Adams Central Community Schools substitute teacher is charged with 12 felony counts after investigators say he inappropriately touched at least five teenage boys and sent them lewd messages.
Christopher Litchfield, 24, also performed sex acts at least ten times on another boy, according to court documents filed in Adams Circuit Court.
The boys told investigators they received photos and text messages from Litchfield, who court documents allege asked about the teens' genitalia and whether he could "get personal" with them. The boys were 13 or 14 years old at the time, a probable cause affidavit states.
Litchfield also "was permitted to come to the school during the lunch hour to speak with students on behalf of a religious organization" called Campus Life and touched one boy's inner thigh after a "youth event," police said. That allegedly happened again twice after the event.
One boy said Litchfield would take him and other boys to buy food as part of his work as a youth leader for his church. Another said he received a texted picture showing Litchfield's clothed midsection.
The mother of one of the boys told police Litchfield entered her home at night and watched her son sleep.
He is charged with six counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, each level 5 felonies punishable by up to six years in prison. He also is charged with residential entry and five counts of child molesting, each carrying a penalty of up to 12 years in prison if he is convicted.
A court hearing is scheduled Thursday.
