Indiana's unemployment rate fell to 3.5% in June, down one-tenth of 1 percentage point from May and matching the June 2018 figure, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development said today.
The monthly figure is lower than the national unemployment rate of 3.7% during the month, the department said in a statement. Ohio's June rate was 4%.
In Indiana, the statement said, private-sector employment grew 6,800 during the month, primarily because of gains in private educational and health services and in professional and business services. It said those gains were partly offset by losses in manufacturing and construction.
