TinCaps win behind Tatis' homer

PEORIA, Ill. – Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning, leading the TinCaps to a 5-3 win over the Peoria Chiefs on Sunday.
The home run by Tatis also scored Buddy Reed and Reinaldo Ilarraza to give the TinCaps (16-8 second half; 42-51 overall) a 3-2 lead.
Tatis, G.K. Young and Tyler Benson each had two hits.
The Chiefs (14-10, 44-49) tied the game in the eighth inning when Matt Fiedler hit an RBI single, driving in Nick Plummer.
The TinCaps took the lead for good in the ninth when Tyler Benson hit an RBI single, scoring Jack Suwinski.
Wilmer Torres (2-2) got the win in relief while Ronnie Williams (3-5) took the loss in the Midwest League game. Hansel Rodriguez retired the side in order for his third save of the season.
The TinCaps started a new winning streak after having their 5-game winning streak end Saturday in a 4-3 loss to the Chiefs. Fort Wayne has won eight of its last 10 games.
