TinCaps win in 11 innings

Hudson Potts hit a two-run single in the top of the 11th inning to lift the TinCaps to a 7-5 win Thursday over the Great Lakes Loons at Dow Diamond in Midland, Michigan.

Fort Wayne (6-8) was tied with Great Lakes at 4 before scoring three runs in the top of the 11th.

Jorge Oņa put the TinCaps ahead 5-4 with an RBI single, and he and Reinaldo Ilarraza scored on Potts' base hit.

The Loons (4-10) scored a run in the bottom of the inning for the final score.

The TinCaps trailed 4-2 but scored two runs in the in the top of the eighth to tie on back-to-back RBI doubles by Fernando Tatis Jr. and Brad Zunica. 

Illarraza was 3 for 5 as the TinCaps outhit the Loons 13-6. Jack Suwinski, Oņa and Potts all had two hits for Fort Wayne.

David Bednar (1-0) got the win after pitching three innings, giving up one hit and one run and striking out four. 

Steve Berman (0-1) gave up three runs and two hits in 11/3 innings.

The second of the four-game series will be at 6:05 tonight.
