Archers roll in sectional semi
South Side's Jaci Jones went for 30 points and seven assists and her Archers (17-7) easily dispatched Muncie Central 91-43 in a Class 4A Homestead Sectional semifinal Friday.
Jones shot 11 of 15 from the field, including 7 of 10 from 3-point range.
South Side got 15 points and four assists from Olivia Smith, pulling away with a 23-7 third quarter.
The Archers move on to the title game at 7:30 p.m. today against the host No. 6 Spartans, who beat Wayne 76-13 in the other semifinal.
NORTHROP 54, DEKALB 43: At DeKalb, J'Asia Scott scored 17 points and added four steals to lead the Bruins (12-9) to a comeback win and a Class 4A sectional semifinal matchup today against North Side, which had a bye. DeKalb (2-20) got 14 points and 10 rebounds from Brooke-Destinee Lockwood.
ADAMS CENTRAL 61, CANTERBURY 20: At Bluffton, the Flying Jets (14-10) jumped out to a 24-5 lead after one quarter on their way to a matchup with rival South Adams in a Class 2A sectional semifinal today. Carly Holley scored 21 points, and McKenna Dietsch chipped in 16.
BLUFFTON 51, EASTSIDE 30: At Bluffton, Alyssa Burchett scored 12 points and the host Tigers (12-11) moved on to a semifinal game against Churubusco today.
WARSAW 40, ELKHART MEMORIAL 20: At Northridge, Halle Shipp led all scorers with 13 points for the Tigers (16-8) in a 4A sectional.
FREMONT 44, LAKELAND CHRISTIAN 25: At Fremont, Bella Dangerfield had a game-high 12 points for the Eagles (14-8), who move on to play Elkhart Christian on Monday in a Class A sectional semifinal. Fremont outscored Lakeland Christian (13-11) 19-0 in the third quarter.
WEST NOBLE 38, FAIRFIELD 25: At West Noble, the host Chargers (16-5) got 12 points from Angela Gross and held Fairfield to just six made field goals en route to a Class 3A semifinal today with NorthWood.
LAKELAND 53, WAWASEE 33: At West Noble, Bailey Hartsough poured in 28 points to lead the Lakers (15-7) to a win and a date with Tippecanoe Valley today. Casey Schroeder had 18 for the Warriors (4-18) in her final game.
SNIDER 65, BISHOP DWENGER 59: At Bishop Dwenger, Michael Eley scored 25 points for the Panthers (11-5, 4-3 SAC), including 19 in the first half. Brenden Lytle kept the Saints (7-7, 2-5) close with 18 points.
