Will Geiger scored 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting and had 17 rebounds to lead Norwell to a 55-51 boys basketball road win over Leo on Saturday.
The Knights held just a three-point lead after three quarters, but strong rebounding by Norwell (8-3) came into play down the stretch, resulting in a 38-27 advantage and 12 second-chance points.
Drew Federspiel added 12 points in the win. Eric Steger scored 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting to give Leo (2-7) a fighting chance. Blake Davison added 15 points.
BLUFFTON 69, WOODLAN 63, OT: In Woodburn, Bluffton scored 14 points in overtime to fend off Woodlan, which put up just eight in the frame. Johnathan Irwin scored 32 points to carry Bluffton (2-8).
Trevor Wiedenhoeft and Aiden Bayman scored 18 apiece for Woodlan (2-9).
HOMESTEAD 59, LAWRENCE NORTH 46: In Indianapolis, Sylare Starks scored 18 points to lead the Class 4A No. 1 Spartans (19-2) past the No. 8 Wildcats. Haley Swing added 12. Homestead nursed an eight point lead at the half, which quickly turned into 11 headed into the fourth quarter.
BELLMONT 50, COLUMBIA CITY 34: In Columbia City, Grace Hunter's 22 points and Meghan Busick's 20 points led Bellmont (15-1). Alaina Rongos had 11 points for the Eagles (9-10).
CARROLL 105.700, HOMESTEAD 103.200, DEKALB 102.875, HUNTINGTON NORTH 93.575, EAST NOBLE 91.625: At the Huntington North Invitational, Carroll's Ashelynn Steinke placed first in all-around with a score of 35.925. Steinke also scored a 9.550 on bars to place first. Homestead's Yana Weir got second in all-around with a 35.475 and Carroll's Ella Smith took third in all-around with a 35.400.
