5 Games to Watch

Snider (5-2) at Bishop Dwenger (7-0): Snider's not the dominant force it was last season, but the Panthers might be a tough matchup for the Saints, who narrowly avoided their first loss against Bishop Luers last week. Like the Knights, the Panthers can score, but Snider is also the second stingiest defense in the SAC behind Dwenger, giving up only 102 points this season.

Homestead (4-3) at Wayne (6-1): Wayne hasn't lost a game – or scored fewer than 21 points – since meeting Bishop Dwenger in the season opener. But Homestead has scored 36 and 38 points the last two weeks, and sophomore running back Braeden Hardwich has set a new career-high for rushing yards in each of the last three games.

East Noble (6-1) at New Haven (4-3): The Knights would clinch the NE8 with a win in New Haven. East Noble's lone loss has come against Warsaw, which is ranked 11th in Class 6A, so the Bulldogs (4-1 in the NE8) would need to pull a major upset to stay in the running for a conference title despite the impressive numbers put up by quarterback Tim Jordan.

Woodlan (4-3) at South Adams (5-2): The Starfires are ranked eighth in Class A, but South Adams has lost consecutive games and needs a win to move up in the ACAC standings and regain its mojo heading into sectionals. Interestingly, the Warriors have yet to lose to a conference opponent (they're 4-0 against the ACAC), but have yet to win against nonconference opponents.

Churubusco (7-0) at West Noble (5-2): The Eagles have already clinched the NECC small-school division by going 4-0 against division opponents, but big-school division West Noble has the best remaining chance to spoil Churubusco's perfect regular season.
