Chargers rally past Bruins

The Carroll boys soccer team recovered from a one-goal deficit in the second half to secure a 2-1 victory at Northrop on Thursday.

Nick Harding began the comeback with a goal in the 57th minute. Peyton Fosnough netted the winning goal in the 75th minute for the Chargers, who had a 13-7 edge in shots and a 7-4 advantage in shots on goal in a game that had 20 fouls.

The Bruins' goal came from Medard Mikobi in the 50th minute.

Girls golf

CARROLL 190, SNIDER 242: At Autumn Ridge, Tina Kindler led the Chargers with a 42. Teammate Abbey Jackson had a 47.

Girls soccer

WARSAW 2, PENN 2: Penn opened the second half with two quick goals to take a 2-1 lead, in a game between two of the state's top teams, but the Tigers answered with a goal from Brenna Buhrt. The lone first-half goal was scored by Warsaw's Delaney Taylor.

Boys tennis

HUNTINGTON NORTH 3, BELLMONT 2: The Vikings got victories at Nos. 2 and 3 singles, where Adam Zahn defeated Nick Teeple 6-3, 6-4 and Carson Kitchen beat Parker Braun 6-1, 6-3.

WAWASEE 3, ELKHART MEMORIAL: The Warriors swept the singles matches, including Zach Leedy's 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 1 over Chris Troyer. At No. 2, Graham Perek defeated Luke Leazenby 6-3, 7-5.


HERITAGE 3, SOUTH ADAMS 0: Maggie Castleman had 20 kills, 21 digs and three aces to lead the Patriots to a 25-18, 25-21, 25-23 victory. Allison Richman had 33 assists.

HUNTINGTON NORTH 3, COLUMBIA CITY 0: Maddy Robrock led the Vikings with 12 kills, 16 assists and three aces in a 25-13, 25-16, 25-17 victory. Brette Fawcett had 12 digs.

WEST NOBLE 3, CENTRAL NOBLE 0: Kristina Teel, who eclipsed 2,000 assists, totaled 22 on the night and added 13 digs and three aces for West Noble.
