Heritage soccer squad romps

Zar Kyi Kan unleashed seven shots and scored on five of them to lead the Heritage boys soccer team to a 7-0 victory over Mississinewa at Gas City on Thursday.

He also assisted on a goal for the Patriots, who got a 10-save shutout from Adam Koenig.

Nick Richie and Ha Sin also scored for the Patriots.

HOMESTEAD 2, NORTH SIDE 1: Marco Navarro and Jake Hege scored for the Spartans on the road.


CONCORDIA 178, BISHOP LUERS 179: Taylor Burford's 41 at Brookwood led the Cadets to the one-stroke victory. Teammate Abi Pease had a 43, and Akira Seals added a 46.

The Knights' Madeleine Pape posted a medalist 40, and Lexy Turpchinoff carded a 44.


HOMESTEAD 5, BLUFFTON 0: The third-ranked Spartans' singles players, David Heiney, Daniel Gilbert and Andrew Meier, didn't lose a game. The closest match came at No. 2 doubles, where Thaddeus Dressel and Landon Sather defeated Noah Cristal and Spencer Schwartz 6-3, 6-1.

HUNTINGTON NORTH 3, DEKALB 2: The Vikings' Thomas Schweller beat Addison Cruz 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 as Huntington North won all of the singles matches.

BISHOP DWENGER 5, NORTH SIDE 0: Andrew Nuerge defeated Korion Johnson 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.


HERITAGE 3, LAKEWOOD PARK 0: Allison Richman totaled 21 assists for the Patriots in a 25-17, 25-7, 25-19 victory, and she added an ace.

CANTERBURY 3, SOUTH SIDE 1: Darryn Hargrett had 15 aces, 11 kills and nine digs for the Cavaliers in the 25-18, 25-8, 23-25, 25-10 victory. Marissa Rivers had 11 kills, 10 digs and two aces for Canterbury.
