Saints win team championship


Bishop Dwenger won the Canterbury Sectional with a 300 on Friday at Chestnut Hills. 

The Saints held off Homestead (309) and the host Cavaliers (313). Those three teams will advance to next week's Warsaw Regional at Stonehenge.

Homestead's Garrett Willis won medalist honors with a 66. 

Medalist runner-up Logan Ryan shot a 71 to lead Dwenger. He was followed by Corey Ryans (75), Luke Miller (77), Danny Kimes (77) and Ariel DeLuna (83). 

The Spartans also got a 76 from Braden Kattman and an 82 from Conner Ottinger. The Cavaliers were led by Camdyn Cobler's 74 and Keena Baldus' 78.

Advancing as individuals are Blackhawk Christian's Grant Norman (74) and Jimmy Bunner (75) and Bishop Luers' Stephan Bolan (77). 

EAST NOBLE: DeKalb won the team title with a 307 at Noble Hawk, followed by Carroll's 321 and Angola's 322. 

Medalist Gabe Schenk shot a 71 to lead the Barons. Teammate Bailey Clark was second with a 72, and Leo's Reid Zimmerman third with a 74. Zimmerman will advance as an individual.

Carroll was led by Benjamin Rudolph's 77. Angola was paced by Ian Smith and Drew Dunham, who each shot a 77.

Also advancing as individuals are Fremont's Cole Thomas (78) and Garrett's Levi Follett. 

NORWELL: Bellmont won the team title with a 330 at Timber Ridge. Marion was second with a 336, and Mississinewa had a 354.

Chance Bressler and Logan Arriaga each shot 82 to lead Bellmont. 

Spencer Schwartz of Bluffton won medalist honors in a playoff with Marion's Lucas Leffler. Both shot a 75. Schwartz will advance to regional as an individual.

WARSAW: The host Tigers won their second straight team title at Rozella Ford. The Tigers shot a 308.
