Carroll, Northrop to face off for title

Libby Steckler scored 31 points, and Kelli Damman added 28 as Carroll outscored DeKalb 89-71 in Class 4A Carroll Sectional semifinal action Friday. In her final prep game, Nebraska recruit Leigha Brown poured in 37 points for the Barons (11-12).

The Chargers (18-6) will face Northrop (20-3) in tonight's championship game, as Niomi Dube scored her 1,000th career point in the Bruins' 82-35 win over North Side (6-17).

Class 4A

Concord Sectional: At Dunlap, an all-Elkhart championship is on tap for tonight, as Elkhart Memorial ended Warsaw's season, 38-35. The Crimson Chargers (14-9) will play Elkhart Central (16-8), which shocked Northridge (21-4) in the first semifinal, 54-52. The Tigers finished 15-9.

South Side Sectional: At South Side, the host Archers cruised into tonight's championship tilt, defeating Huntington North 76-59. South Side (21-4) faces Muncie Central, as 26 in the fourth lifted the Bearcats (6-17) past Wayne (2-20) 49-32. The Vikings' season concluded at 11-12.

Class 3A

Fairfield Sectional: At Benton, Wawasee held No. 6 Tippecanoe Valley to three fourth-quarter points to pull off the upset, 40-39. The Warriors (13-10) trailed 36-29 after three quarters before rallying past the Vikings (20-4).

Wawasee will face the No. 3 and sectional host Falcons (21-2), a 40-32 winner over NorthWood (16-9), tonight for a sectional title.

Bellmont Sectional: At Decatur, Kathryn Knapke's double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds) pushed Bishop Luers (18-7) past Columbia City (9-16) 60-27. In the nightcap, Marion improved to 20-4 by knocking off Bellmont (19-5), 45-34.

Class 2A

Central Noble Sectional: At Albion, the host Cougars will look to defend their sectional title, moving into tonight's finals with a 68-18 victory over Prairie Heights (6-18). There, Central Noble (18-5) will take on Bremen (12-11), a 71-46 winner over Westview (11-13) in the first game Friday.

Eastside Sectional: At Butler, Bluffton opened the evening with a 39-22 triumph over ACAC rival Adams Central (6-18). The Tigers, who led 19-2 after the first quarter, will face Canterbury in tonight's title game. The Cavaliers (9-14) topped the host Blazers in the second semifinal, 54-41. Eastside finished 15-9.

Class 1A

Bethany Christian Sectional: At Waterford Mills, tonight's championship round will pit two 16-win squads against each other. Lakeland Christian (16-8) notched a 63-19 win over Hamilton (0-23), and Lakewood Park (16-5) topped Fremont (11-13), 39-33.
