Heritage boys on to ACAC semis


The Heritage boys basketball team avenged last year's ACAC Tournament championship game loss with a 53-44 win over Woodlan in the opening round Tuesday.

The teams were tied at 9 after the first quarter, but the Patriots led 19-14 at half and 33-23 after three.

The Patriots will host Bluffton in Thursday's semifinal.

BLUFFTON 47, SOUTH ADAMS 40: At South Adams, the Tigers outscored the Starfires 16-4 in the second quarter to take control.

Johnathan Irwin scored 17 and Rylie Johnston added 10 for Bluffton while James Arnold scored 12 and Kody Fike had 10 for South Adams.

BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 55, HOMESTEAD 52: At Blackhawk Christian, Caleb Furst scored 15 and Frank Davidson added 13 for the Braves.

Onye Ezeakudo had six 3-pointers to finish with 28 points for the Spartans and Sam Buck added 10.

HUNTINGTON NORTH 59, CONCORDIA 54, OT: At Concordia, Zach Daugherty scored 14, Trey Williams added 13 and Hank Pulver had 10 rebounds for the Vikings.

Adam Gottschalk led the Cadets with 13 and Jadon Dance and Brayden Pearson each added 12.


SOUTH ADAMS 45, BLUFFTON 41: At South Adams, Lexi Dellinger led the Starfires with 20 points while Emme Boots scored 20 to lead the Tigers.

JAY COUNTY 62, SOUTHERN WELLS 31: At Jay County, the Patriots were led by Shelby Caldwell's 19 points and Kendra Muhlenkamp scored 10. Jay County will host Adams Central in the ACAC Tournament semifinals Thursday.

CENTRAL NOBLE 47, WESTVIEW 39: At Central Noble, Meleah Leatherman led the Cougars with 15, Sydney Freeman added 15 and Bridgette Gray 10 in the NECC Tournament.

Ashya Klopfenstein led the Warriors with 13 points.

WEST NOBLE 54, FREMONT 40: At West Noble, Tori Miller, Madison Schermerhorn and Angela Gross each scored 11 for the Chargers at the NECC Tournament.

Sam Kuhn led the Eagles with 17.
