Carroll, Woodlan QBs go for 7 TDs apiece


Two area quarterbacks accounted for seven touchdowns apiece in wins Friday. 

Carroll's Jack Miguel threw for seven scores in the Chargers' 49-14 win over Northrop, while Woodlan's Justin Durkes had six touchdown passes and ran for another score as the Warriors beat Bluffton 54-19. 

For Carroll (2-2) had Justin Becker with three touchdown catches, Gaven Vogt had two, while Jonathan Becker and Cam Shank each had one. 

Donald Guerrant, Aaron Hahn and Jack Rhoades each had two touchdown catches for Woodlan (4-0, 2-0 ACAC).


SNIDER 52, SOUTH ADAMS 12: Anyis Lockett ran for 182 yards and two touchdowns for the host Panthers (4-0). Mikale Stephens threw for 190 yards and two touchdowns for the Archers (0-4). 

WAYNE 33, NORTH SIDE 19: Brandan Young threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another score as the host Generals (2-2) pulled away from the Legends (0-4). 

EAST NOBLE 41, DEKALB 9: The Knights (3-1, 2-0 NE8) outgained the Barons (0-4, 0-2) 405-179 in the lopsided road win. Andrew McCormick threw for 197 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 97 yards and a score.

COLUMBIA CITY 20, HUNTINGTON NORTH 10: Jacob Wigent ran for 164 yards and two touchdowns to lead the visiting Eagles (3-1, 2-0 NE8) past the Vikings (0-4, 0-2). 

BELLMONT 21, NORWELL 7: Johnathan Wilder completed only 4 of 7 passes for the Braves (1-3, 1-1 NE8) but it was good for 144 yards and two touchdowns against the Knights (1-3, 0-2). 

ADAMS CENTRAL 70, JAY COUNTY 42: The Jets (2-2, 1-0) set a school record for total points, eclipsing the 69 scored in 2003. Logan Macklin ran for 236 yards and three touchdowns, while Drew Schultz went for 150 rushing yards and three scores.      

SOUTH ADAMS 48, HERITAGE 3: The Starfires (4-0, 2-0) outgained the visiting Patriots (0-4, 0-2) 424-152 as Nic Stuber threw for 159 yards and three touchdowns and Joe Stuber ran for 114 yards and two touchdowns. 

ANGOLA 72, WEST NOBLE 21: The Hornets (4-0, 1-0 NECC large school) beat their previous school record by a touchdown in the road win. Angola scored 65 twice in 2010. 

GARRETT 34, LAKELAND 14: Joel Mix ran for 199 yards and two touchdowns for the visiting Railroaders (2-2, 1-0 NECC large school). 

WARSAW 17, ELKHART MEMORIAL 6: Coach Phil Jensen picked up his 100th win at Warsaw (2-2, 1-1 NLC).

ROCHESTER 37, WHITKO 7: The Wildcats (0-4, 0-1 TRC North) fell behind 28-0 at halftime in the road loss.
