Young accounts for 5 TDs as Generals top Bruins


Brandon Young threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns and ran for two more scores as Wayne pulled away from host Northrop in the second half for a 50-27 win Friday at Spuller Stadium. 

The Generals (1-2) outscored the Bruins (1-2) 33-13 in the final two quarters. 

Northrop's Bailey Meerzo threw for 202 yards and two touchdowns.

SNIDER 24, CONCORDIA 7: The defending SAC champion Panthers pulled away from the defending Class 3A state champion Cadets at Zollner Stadium. Snider (3-0) got 118 yards rushing and two touchdowns from Christian Covington. Marcus Morrow had the only touchdown for Concordia (1-2). 

CARROLL 42, NORTH SIDE 3: Jack Miguel had 306 total yards, 194 passing and 112 rushing, and three touchdowns for the visiting Chargers (1-2), who picked up their first win. The Legends (0-3) remain winless.

BISHOP DWENGER 48, SOUTH SIDE 14: Eddie Morris threw for 190 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score for the visiting Saints (3-0). The Archers fell to 0-3.

EAST NOBLE 35, HUNTINGTON NORTH 6: The Knights' Andrew McCormick became the school's all-time leading passer (5,005 yards) in the home romp. 

McCormick finished with 154 yards and two scores for East Noble (2-1, 1-0 NE8). The Vikings are 0-3, 0-1.

COLUMBIA CITY 14, BELLMONT 13: Max Bedwell hit Jacob Bolt on a two-point conversion pass and the visiting Eagles beat the Braves. Bolt also passed for a touchdown for Columbia City (2-1, 1-0 NE8), which overcame a 13-0 deficit to Bellmont (0-3, 0-1) with two fourth-quarter scores.

LEO 42, NORWELL 0: Alex Wertman ran for 175 yards and two touchdowns as the Lions rolled on the road. 

Leo (2-1, 1-0 NE8) got two scores from Concordia transfer Colton Grahovac, one on a punt return and one receiving. The Knights dropped to 1-2, 0-1.

WOODLAN 67, HERITAGE 0: Jack Rhoades ran for 289 yards and four touchdowns and Justin Durkes threw for 204 yards and three scores for the visiting Warriors (3-0, 1-0 ACAC). The Patriots are 0-3, 0-1.

SOUTH ADAMS 51, BLUFFTON 27: Nic Stuber accounted for six touchdowns as the visiting Starfires rolled past the Tigers. Stuber threw for three scores and ran for three more for South Adams (3-0, 2-0 ACAC). Brandon Lockwood ran for 187 yards and a touchdown for Bluffton (1-2, 1-1). 

EASTSIDE 9, WEST NOBLE 8: The Blazers won a defensive battle at home over the Chargers. Eastside (2-1) had 127 total yards, while West Noble (2-1) had 296.

CENTRAL NOBLE 26, FAIRFIELD 12: The Cougars overcame a 12-0 first-half deficit to win on the road. Central Noble (2-1) got 185 rushing yards and two touchdowns from Breeon Burges. 

PLYMOUTH 42, WARSAW 7: The Rockies outgained the Tigers 406-90 in the big road win. Warsaw is 1-2 and 0-1 in the NLC.

MACONAQUAH 48, WHITKO 7: The visiting Braves outgained the Wildcats (0-3) 366-128 in the easy win.
