Lions' Allen ties state hit mark

Leo's Alexa Allen tied the state's career hits record in the Lions' 17-3 win at DeKalb on Monday.

Allen finished with one hit, a double in the sixth, to put her career total at 222. She scored three times and was walked twice. She can break the record today against Carroll.

Abbie Heischman went 3 for 4, including a double and a home run, and finished with six RBI for the Lions.

Baseball

CARROLL 6, HUNTINGTON NORTH 5: At Huntington North, the Vikings' rally came up short as the Chargers led 6-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth.

Riley Perlich went 3 for 4 with four RBI for the Chargers. Jared Shirk earned the win for two innings of work, giving up one run on four hits.

Tennis

ALL-SAC: Bishop Luers' Caroline Rahrig finished the year 7-0 while Snider's Chloe Smithley, Bishop Dwenger's Abby Oswald and Charity Felton of Concordia join her on the first-team singles.

Abby Schreck and Megan Lopez of Bishop Dwenger finished 7-0 in doubles, joined by Abby Minger and Emily Lahey of Concordia and Carla Choka and Rose Hoskins of Bishop Luers on the doubles first-team.

CARROLL SECTIONAL: The hosts will play Leo and Snider faces Churubusco, both at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday. The Carroll/Leo winner advances to play Blackhawk Christian while the Snider/Churubusco winner faces Northrop. Both semifinals are at 4:15 p.m. Thursday and the championship is 4:15 p.m. Friday.

CONCORDIA SECTIONAL: South Side and North Side will open the tournament at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday with the winners facing the hosts. Bishop Dwenger opens 5:15 p.m. Thursday against New Haven. The championship is slated for 5:15 p.m. Friday.

ANGOLA SECTIONAL: DeKalb faces Fremont, and Prairie Heights will play at Angola. Both matches start at 5 p.m. Wednesday with the championships at 5 p.m. Thursday.

NORWELL SECTIONAL: Bellmont faces Bluffton, and Norwell plays South Adams at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Adams Central plays the winner of Bellmont/Bluffton, and Huntington North faces the Norwell/South Adams winner, both at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. The Championship is 4:30 p.m. Friday.
