Starfires slay Spartans softball
South Adams' Katelin Augsburger struck out 18 batters and gave up one hit in a 2-0 win in softball over Homestead on Tuesday. The Spartans' one hit was a double from Lauren Selking.
CONCORDIA 7, DEKALB 6: At Concordia, the Cadets scored six runs in the sixth inning to tie the game and won it in eight innings.
SOUTH ADAMS 2, HOMESTEAD 0: At Homestead, the Starfires gave up only one hit and scored twice in the top of the sixth in the win.
BLUFFTON 12, WABASH 1: At Bluffton, Ashlyn Nestleroad went 2 for 4 with four RBI and Emily Pressler and Megan Prater each went 1 for 3 with two RBI and a run each for the Tigers.
CARROLL 18, COLUMBIA CITY 0: At Columbia City, Carroll starter Nolan Lebamoff struck out six and gave up one run in three innings and Jake Ostrowski provided no-hit relief for two innings, striking out five.
NORTHROP 6, HUNTINGTON NORTH 5: At Huntington University, the Vikings scored all of their runs in the first inning. Marcus Bell gave up one hit in 61/3 innings of relief, striking out five and walking three.
DEKALB 163, EAST NOBLE 167: At Noble Hawk, Bailey Clark led the Barons with a 3-over 38. Brock Kerst and Nick Alwine each had a 41 for the Knights.
COLUMBIA CITY 170, HUNTINGTON NORTH 191: At Eagle Glen, Spencer McCammon earned medalist honors with a 5-over 41 to lead the Eagles. Luke Pulver led the Vikings with a 46.
CARROLL 5, ADAMS CENTRAL 0: At Carroll, Sydney Jackson defeated Jenna Lehman 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Lauren VanWyngarden, and Mia Toscos won 6-0, 6-0 over Randi Bebout and Sarah Liter.

EAST NOBLE 71, HUNTINGTON NORTH 48, BELLMONT 48: At Huntington North, Knights' Lexie Moriarity won the 100 meters in 13 seconds, the 200 in :27.7 and long jump at 16 feet, 1/2 inch.
