Manchester at Bluffton

Records: Manchester 2-4 (2-2 HCAC), Bluffton 1-5 (1-3)

When: 1:30 p.m. Saturday

Where: Salzman Stadium, Bluffton, Ohio

Outlook: Down 28-0 to league-leading Mount St. Joseph by the second quarter, Manchester looked depleted last week. Rattling off a few scores, the Spartans did make the game a bit more competitive but still lost 49-27. Manchester hasn't had trouble scoring. It's the defense that has struggled. Not counting the 69-0 slaughtering of Earlham, Manchester has given up an average of 37.6 points. ... Bluffton is averaging only 18.7 points. Bluffton quarterback Plummie Gardner threw five interceptions in a 23-14 loss last week at Rose-Hulman. ... The Spartans won 28-21 last season with a big defensive stand as time wound down.
