With De'Ron Davis (lower right leg) and Collin Hartman (sore right shoulder) out, freshman Justin Smith scored 20 points, including the go-ahead basket, in his second career start. ... Davis is out indefinitely, according to the official game notes, while Hartman is day-to-day. ... Robert Johnson had a career-high 28 points at Minnesota and has 1,196 points in his IU career, 37th on the all-time list. ...
