The Komets only got one goal Saturday night -- from forward Josh Brittain -- but that was all they needed as they defeated the Gwinnett Gladiators 1-0 at Memorial Coliseum.
The ECHL on Saturday announced that Fort Wayne's Brent Henley has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #55, Gwinnett at Fort Wayne, on Oct. 26.
The Komets lost to the Gwinnett Gladiators 4-2 Friday at Memorial Coliseum in the first-ever meeting between the teams.
The ECHL has renewed its partnership with the MeiGray Group, which sells game-worn jerseys of league players, and that had caused some Fort Wayne fans to worry that a longtime tradition was coming to an end because of an exclusivity agreement.

The Komets got quite a test from Evansville goaltender Paul Karopwich, but they emerged with a 4-3 victory in an overtime shootout Saturday night at Memorial Coliseum.
KALAMAZOO, Mich -- The Komets didn't score a goal but came out with a point in the standings, losing 1-0 to the Kalamazoo Wings in an overtime shootout in the first game at Wings Stadium since 2009.

Brandon Marino had the only goal for the Komets -- during a third-period power play -- and they lost their first game in the ECHL, 4-1 to the Kalamazoo Wings at Memorial Coliseum.
It looks as if Charlie Effinger will get the start for the Komets tonight, in their first ECHL game, against the Kalamazoo Wings.
The Komets are opening tonight with two new names on the roster.
Just heard that the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. bridge will be adorned with orange, white and black lights this weekend to celebrate the Komets, who open the season Friday against the Kalamazoo Wings.
You may have seen the report on HockeyBuzz, and other local outlets, that the Komets have a new affiliation with the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies and that they are getting three forwards sent here immediately.
